So, what does the Simulator do?
The Simulator uses flight simulation technology, coordinating movement, motion picture and sound to transport you into breathtaking experiences that you never before thought possible!
What FILMS can it show?
The Simulator has a wide variety of exciting films which can be changed in a matter of seconds. These include: Astro Canyon (roller coaster in Space), Harrier Jump Jet, Vectra Rally, Yamaha Motorbikes, Smash Factory (comedy crash test ride), Pepsi Max Roller Coaster, Slot Car Boogie (giant Scalextrics car race), Isle of Man TT, Glacier Run (futuristic ice adventure), Volcano Mine Ride and many more! You’ll feel like you were really there without ever having left the safety of your seat!!!

Why is this Simulator so special?
The S&D Leisure Rides Simulator is undoubtedly the best mobile Simulator currently touring the UK. It has been carefully designed to be visually very impressive as well as being a fun ride for all the family.
It uses the latest in colour-changing LED light technology which produces mesmerizing effects and are far brighter than standard bulbs.
There are two large plasma screen viewing monitors for spectators to watch. One shows the actual film that the passengers are watching on the ride and the other shows live footage of the passengers inside!
The screen inside employs the latest Hitachi LCD projector for optimum picture quality, and the ride itself is programmed with sophisticated flight simulation technology, brand new for 2009.

The artwork which covers the ride and the large backdrop depicts scenes and images from the various exciting rides available to experience on the Simulator, such as Bob the crash test dummy, the popular Astra Rally car and the firm favourite among riders of all ages - Astro Canyon, Roller Coaster in Space! The artwork was designed by renowned fairground artist Paul Wright and was painstakingly hand sprayed by the very talented Tony Rae.
The Simulator also features a state of the art audio system by Belgian company, Disco Smash, which delivers fantastic sound quality and includes a programmable sound effect / PA machine. When the Simulator is stationary, music can be played, but when the Simulator is in flight, the audio that is heard by the passengers inside is played for spectators to hear.

Instead of the run-of-the-mill pop music that other Simulators play, the S&D Leisure Rides Simulator features the theme tunes from some of the best adventure films such as: Back to the Future, Pirates of The Caribbean, Star Wars, Superman and many more. The adventurous music really sets the scene for this special ride and provides a wonderful atmosphere.
